Vivien is a professional artist specialising in animals. Home is a North Devon cottage situated between the Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks and overlooking a magical wooded valley with a meandering brook where otters can sometimes be seen. Vivien says, “To me otters have a lot in common with cats, another of my painting passions - they form lovely curving shapes and have masses of whiskers”.

Inspired by the effects of the light falling on her subjects, Vivien uses twilight and moonlight to create mood and atmosphere and also likes to capture the variations of colour in an animal’s coat when it glows in sunlight.

In summer 2015 Vivien exhibited at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art where one of her new charcoal pieces, “Playmates”, has received a David Cook award for outstanding drawing ability. “Something Stirred”, a pastel of a Scottish Wildcat, has also sold.  Limited edition prints of “Playmates” and open edition prints of “Something Stirred” are available to order through Vivien’s website - a 33% donation to the wildcats will be made on all orders through this site.
Vivien is offering an Artist workshop by email where artists can learn pastel techniques, she has been doing pastel on velour e-workshops for around seven years now and has sold hundreds of them all over the world so they are very much tried and tested. If you wish to try the Scottish Wildcat e-workshop (http://www.vivienwalters.co.uk/eworkshopgalleries.html) Vivien will donate 33% of the cost to the Haven Project.

If you would like to buy a wildcat print or e-workshop please visit www.vivienwalters.com or email. Let me know which picture you are interested in, mention HAVEN and I will donate the stated percentage of the price to help the Wildcats.
